Triumphed Gloriously

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=elILetNPyr4

This is a little clip about this Harry this manz-dude who expressed himself apart from words or interaction because he was shy slash full of pain.  Shyness can be an excuse.  It could be to hide from pain, to self-wallow and fill yourself with self-pity.  But it can also be a safety net to unbearable amounts of shame and distress.  Jesus can take that pain--in Jesus we still suffer, but he provides meaning, salvation, purpose, truth, light, freedom, and he stomps on shame--and changes us for our good.  The suffering we still experience in Jesus is still difficult, but now it is blossoming with meaning and one day will be wiped away while the meaning of it lasts.  And God himself carries you through the darkness.  There is hope in this Jesus.

Ask yourself:
“Is there any meaning in my life that my inevitable death cannot destroy?” Leo Tolstoy

I love that God created dance, and expression through movement.  Dance is often biblically associated with celebration and joy.

When you eat something, do you ever just light up, eyes widened.. and want to dance?  Maybe wiggle a little bit.  Do a jig, at least?  Isn't it just a natural impulse?  You suddenly catch yourself in the mirror; or your sister walks down the stairs as you're still shaking your toosh in the freezer.

The prophetess Miriam danced with other women in celebration of God helping the israelites escape the grips of Pharaoh and Egypt who enslaved and killed the nation and descendants of the one who had faith in the living God--Abraham was that one with faith.

Exodus 15:19-21

English Standard Version (ESV)
19 For when the horses of Pharaoh with his chariots and his horsemen went into the sea, the Lord brought back the waters of the sea upon them, but the people of Israel walked on dry ground in the midst of the sea. 20 Then Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a tambourine in her hand, and all the women went out after her with tambourines and dancing.21 And Miriam sang to them:
“Sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously;
the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea.”

How about the word "then."  God destroyed their overseers, and everything that entrapped all of their hopes... "then," the immediate conclusion is dancing and zooming into a scene with Miriam.  I love that this was a communal celebration and that the people came together with song also.  "He has triumphed gloriously," do you sing to him about that?  Where are the areas of your life that he has "triumphed gloriously"?  If you know Jesus, this is one area that he has triumphed and one area of celebration.

1 John 5:4-5

English Standard Version (ESV)
For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

How was this overcame?  Your faith.  But is your faith from you?  No, it is a gift!  So it is God yet again that we can sing to who has "triumphed gloriously."

Ephesians 2:8-10

English Standard Version (ESV)
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

"this is not your own doing"!!  Whoa.  And not a result of what you have done: works.  Good riddance too, cuz you and I, heh, we've done a lot of evil.  Uncountable.  Now here's a horrible metaphor: saying to God that I am righteous like him, is like saying to Usain Bolt that I run sometimes too.  This is a horrible metaphor because the difference is vastly bigger.  God gave usain his legs and he can take them away in an instant, and he made the stars with a breath, and some could swallow up our star and earth in size.  Don't believe me that faith is a gift--that indeed God is the one who is working?  Too amazing to believe that God has done this?  Lets go to the original language:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3dodm97SY4

What was overcame exactly, the world and...?
What did Christ overcome in us?

2 Peter 1:4

English Standard Version (ESV)
by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.

That divine nature doesn't mean we become gods.  Don't jump into heresy, or... mormonism slash the love and worship of man.

King David danced before the Lord also!

2 Samuel 6:14

English Standard Version (ESV)
14 And David danced before the Lord with all his might. And David was wearing a linen ephod.

David danced "with all his might."  He did not only honor God through expression of movement, but he put himself into it.  What are other areas of our lives that we could be expressing love for Jesus "with all"?  But be on your guard.  David in the end was hated for his dancing.

2 Samuel 6:16

"As the ark of the Lord came into the city of David, Michal the daughter of Saul looked out of the window and saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord, and she despised him in her heart."If you think he was hated for his being "naked," which he wasn't; then read this:
http://www.bereanwife.net/2009/10/did-david-dance-before-the-lord-naked/comment-page-1/

Matthew 10:16

English Standard Version (ESV)
16 “Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.
We are being sent out as sheep midst wolves.  Their god is their belly (Philippians 3:19).  The world will inevitably hate you, so be wise and innocent.  Don't expect the world to "get" your expression.  Doesn't mean don't express.  We are not above our master.  If Jesus was crucified, what will they do to his servants?

John 15 warns of the wiles of the world.  As Matthew 5 says, if you are hated on account of Jesus' name, then you are blessed.  But do not go seeking to be hated, only follow him and it will naturally occur as 2 Timothy 3:12 says.  Instead we are to love our enemies as Jesus' commands, and are to be gentle and patient, though bold.  People hate you because they first have hated God.

John 15:18-20

English Standard Version (ESV)
18 “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. 19 If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.20 Remember the word that I said to you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you. If they kept my word, they will also keep yours.

Below, I emphasize "world."  The world is opposed to those who follow Jesus by nature.  But notice the response that Jesus has to the world hating us.  The world answers to Satan and his desires, and we listen to God because he is "who is in" you and I, if indeed, we have Christ.  He again brings up the Holy Spirit, God who lives in us, at the end of John 15.  He calls him "the Helper" and says that he will "bear witness about me."  You may be persecuted but if you have Jesus then "the Spirit of truth" lives inside of you, and we're not talkin' some disneyland feeling dealio, but God himself indwells.  The way that the old testament Jews saw the temple as the house of God, so you and I are now.  How precious is this truth?  This is not a pearl for all men-- we must be in Christ, if indeed, he is not ours--then this is not true.

1 John 4

English Standard Version (ESV)
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God:every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already. Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. They are from the world; therefore they speak from the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God. Whoever knows God listens to us; whoever is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the Spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

But Dude, I love that stuff on TV that nailed my savior to the cross...

really?

1 John 2:15

English Standard Version (ESV)
15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

James 4:4

English Standard Version (ESV)
You adulterous people! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God?Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

1 John 2:16

English Standard Version (ESV)
16 For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.

Romans 8:13

English Standard Version (ESV)
13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

My dear friend, do you feel unknown by the world?  Do you feel like your relatives who don't trust in Christ don't GET you?

1 John 3:1-3

English Standard Version (ESV)
See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God's children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.

Here is some good news, Jesus knows and understands us in full--

1 Corinthians 8:3

English Standard Version (ESV)
But if anyone loves God, he is known by God.

Galatians 4:9

English Standard Version (ESV)

But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how can you turn back again to the weak and worthless elementary principles of the world, whose slaves you want to be once more?

1 Chronicles 28:9

New International Version (NIV)

“And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever.

(Note by Dude:  "if you forsake him" is a full forsaking.  If you are not currently with Him... COME BACK.  )

Psalm 139:13-16

New International Version (NIV)

13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

We are adopted into a new family, and loved by the infinite God.  We have lost everything but we have gained everything.

Lets praise Him because he has TRIUMPHED GLORIOUSLY, and saved us from slavery.  Can you jiggle from a lil' candeez eatin'?  and you can't jiggle from the joy of being known by the God of the universe?!  oh yea, and He's loved you for all of time and lives in you now... do a little holy jigglin'; do some closed eyed arm shakin' jiggle a bit already!

Lets praise him and
lets do so through movement and song and color.

And sit (and maybe not sit) then meditate on this:
Movement and color can contain meaning.  Whoa.  Praise to God.

Have you ever thought of your legs and your arms like this? flowing lines :

Without Jesus though there is no meaning, no end; everything is inconsequential.  Lasting consequence requires lasting effect.  So even our dancing is pointless without God.  Lets dance and sing with purpose.

Side note on the video by Dude:
Here's the thing about Harry.  The world wants to tell you to go to worldly reasoning; human reasoning.  There is a place for counselling, there is a time for when these things are needed, when un-abused prescribed drugs can be helpful for a time to helps someone out of an issue or if they have something long term.  But if the apostle Paul couldn't help someone on an island with just a Bible in hand, and you say that he would do worse without your psychology--then it is worldly reasoning and you do not see the word as sufficient.  It is sufficient by itself.  Unaided from any human thoughts, God's are sufficient.  Some cats in here are claiming that if they can observe something then that is more true than the word of God.  While if we could find Jesus' bones after the tomb was moved, it would certainly mean that we have wasted our lives.  This has not happened though!  And what a fool you would be to throw away everything for nothing.  It is written, if anyone thinks that they are wise BY THE STANDARDS of this world, then they should make themselves a fool in order to become wise.  Do not conform to the standards of this age or time but renew your mind with the word of God.  This is not to downgrade what counselors, psychologists, and scientists do for this world.  Technology brings a common grace, psychology and drugs bring a grace for many people whose bodies are effected by the fall or need a helping hand to guide through lots of pain and healing, there is a need.  Yet we need to strive t
o not have man-centered theology.  This does not take away from the profound gifts of battling cancer, of surgeons, of bipolar medication... and God has provided those means and has provided healing through confession and speaking to humans.  But God is their need, God is the answer, and God is sufficient and capable even without our help.  He can bring us nutrients when we don't even understand what we eat (like with ezekiel bread); but even if we don't eat what makes sense ("fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.  It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones."-Proverbs 3:7-8, some versions say "nourish."  Jesus also says to Satan that man lives off of more than bread alone but from every word spoken by the Father).  The truths of God should guide our profession.  If we are scientist then we should observe and we can value our work, but we must shine as something DIFFERENT as a light that challenges the science world, not willing to simply accept human reasoning.
Wicked (not eastcoast wicked either) seminaries deny the sufficiency of scripture. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0UtYB1G49E   Seminary can be a dangerous place, and so is the classroom because you are around many people who think that they have truth and answers and authority.  Apart from scripture's backing, no one has authority--only experience and reasoning.  A lot of people go through seminary and come out with big heads and pride; lots of knowledge about God, but not OF God as J.I. Packer makes the distinction in his book Knowing God.
Pastor and digital missionary, Moe Bergeron said it this way:
"Many liberal unbelieving seminaries did not begin that way. Evil teachers with their false doctrine crept in over time. Be on your guard." "When in seminary your dependence on the Holy Spirit for understanding God’s Holy Word is greater than ever to guard against false teaching."

Science, observation, hypothesis is good in its proper place but "the righteous shall live by faith."  Not reasonless faith (look at carm.org and watch your presumptions melt away about reasonless faith), not faith apart from "science" altogether.  But not by sight.  A lot of science around today is a religion and not observation, trusting inclinations of man.  I love science and I regularly read and study some of my favorites like bio, ecology, and quantum physics.  But there are no truths that replace God's.  If you have doubts, understand there are answers out there, seek and you will find.
The religion of science is the religion of skepticism (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTJso930yKQ ).  The religion is very unscientific because it starts with belief and sets out to prove it afterward.  It is not proven by observation and testing but rather presumption.  Its beliefs are nothing can exist unless I can prove it through experiment.  Nice, so you gave up reason so that you could have your science?  Because God by nature is invisible.  Its a mystery as to how these people believe in wind, organs, blackholes, or anything else.  No wonder they deny human life exists before it comes out of the womb.  I don't see it?  Do you?  No.  But if we wait any longer we might, better go in.  We know there is a baby by scans, bumps, kicks, weight, etc., we know there is a blackhole from quasars, gamma-rays, star rotation, etc., we know there are organs in us because we see them in other dead people; and we know that there is wind because we see not it, but what it moves.  Look around us, we see the same type of evidence for God.  It is found in the world around us but it shouts loudest and most coherently in the word of God.
How do you know there is a god:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgJmsK2s0uI
Why trust the Bible: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZNXMJGYNG8

If you find a "truth" that contradicts God's or you need to twist God's word to mean what you want it to... be very careful not to assume or presume it is true.  What you are doing is saying, I have found something that has made my life and life in general utterly meaningless.  All goodness is rendered pointless, and only loss is reality.  There is no truth though that contradicts God's word other than what is false and deceitful.  Because apart from Jesus, meaning is lost, and so is direction.
Let me tell you of a great counselor; the great counselor--God.  There is an observer who has seen all things, and a mind analyzer who has made all minds and knows all minds.  Even dancing is a horrid thing if it is your savior. Harry don't go to people, don't hide in a shell-- go to God.  And God can use people for healing, he can use dancing for healing, but ultimately it will come in those things through God.  Go to Him, Harry.

You can TRUST this word:
