The power of forgiveness

Isaiah 1:18

English Standard Version (ESV)

“Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord:
though your sins are like scarlet,
    they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red like crimson,
    they shall become like wool.

Dear friends... let this one sink in...

Colossians 1:13-14
He rescued us from the power of darkness and brought us safe into the kingdom of his dear Son,  by whom we are set free, that is, our sins are forgiven.

"He rescued" --not you-- Not your works being good enough, not your choice to leave darkness, no, He alone rescued you.

Proverbs 17:15

English Standard Version (ESV)
15 He who justifies the wicked and he who condemns the righteous
are both alike an abomination to the Lord.

God does not sin in forgiving us because he places justice upon another.
And then he changes us from a heart desiring wickedness to a heart desiring God's will, and sees His son's righteousness and not ours.

Matt Chandler - Forgiveness

Hebrews 8:12

English Standard Version (ESV)

For I will be merciful toward their iniquities,

and I will remember their sins no more.”

Daniel 9:9

English Standard Version (ESV)
To the Lord our God belong mercy and forgiveness,
for we have rebelled against him

He is faithful to forgive
