A close look at Rob Bell and how love does win, but not how he claims

Rob Bell...

A teacher out of grand rapids Michigan.  Not long ago had one of the largest growing churches in the U.S. and was extremely popular.  I have seen many people abandon their faith to follow his false teachings.  He has since moved to California and has spread his popularity through television but has settled more into the beach lifestyle which for us who have worried about those effected by him-- we are thankful for this.
He is quite obviously a false teacher; his fangs hang low under his poorly sown sheep's clothing.  I want him to change, I want to care and love for him and those who follow him... but for now we know he is a false teacher and egregiously misleading many people.

Here is Rob Bell talking about his message and his book.  His most popular book, Love Wins, has a technique to throw you off and to doubt.  The idea is to use the tactics that Satan used.  First he questions God.  This is the tactic that Satan used against Adam and Eve.  Did God really say that?  This is the first question that Rob asks in this.  He continues to layer question upon question.  The goal is to press you into a state of doubt.  After you are then malleable he can mess with your mind.  First you question the interpretation, then the word of God, then God's Biblical character and then ultimately his goodness and then Him and Christianity altogether --unless you've formed a new Christianity.

In this video he not only presents his message but his book.  He has been sneaking in wicked heresies since before this time but here it finally crosses over the most obvious of lines.  He denies the doctrine of hell, denies the holiness of God, denies fear of God, denies the election of God, and much else.  There is manipulation through art, stylish clothing, walking forward styled cinema with color and changing images, and music in order to effect your emotions.

So notice he starts off with immediately it starts with anxious music, and a problem, a great art piece is being mocked by someone.  They leave a message in a condemning and unloving way.  Rob jumps on the opportunity.

He questions first, would Gandhi go to hell?  He's a perfect example of a figure that people in pop culture love and like to lift up.  But we must not forget that Gandhi like all men was a sinner and committed wickedness.  Gandhi was known for all types of sins, he would sleep naked next to young girls (in order to test his ability to control his celibacy in order to gain a spiritual power), he was known for being extremely racist against blacks, and exchanging in other sins too disturbing to write down on this page.  He believed in false gods and denied Jesus.  Gandhi, just like Mary, the mother of Jesus, and any other pop culture loved figure-- is guilty of sin as egregious as the last person.  We all need a savior.
Then Rob next asks an interesting question... Is it ACTUALLY true that few will make it to heaven... Well, lets see what Jesus, the captain of our faith says...
Matthew 7:13 " Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a FEW find it."
Then Rob challenges the idea of hell being an eternal place.  But John Piper helps explains to us this idea: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k1iHFTS0eys

Well Rob Bell, now that you've thoroughly mocked the greatest and most amazing moment of all of history-- Jesus sacrifice of love-- I'll answer that question and challenge these views:

He mocks the weight of sin that Jesus took upon himself.  You and I have done horrid things and so has the entire world and when these sins are placed on one who did not deserve this... this is no small thing.  It is a mockery of what Jesus has done and how he has loved us to say that Jesus died for nothing.... he is claiming that everyone just goes to heaven.

Don't you understand?  Our sin really did deserve hell... but here is the GOOD NEWS:

If you believe in him then He drank your hell:

John Piper on not neglecting to preach the doctrine of hell for the sake of not distorting the gospel:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O6bC1ACNZjk

If you believe that Jesus died for ALL and therefore all make it into the kingdom of God then I would challenge you with this essay:
http://www.monergism.com/thethreshold/articles/piper/piper_atonement.html
There are many verses that point to the idea that not everyone makes it to heaven and this is simply logical when you see words like "few" making it in Matthew 7.

Rob Bell... what kind of God needs to rescue us from his own wrath and Justice?  An actually JUST God.  He assumes that we are good.  My friend we are not GOOD, God does not do evil, he works rightly to rid earth of us.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MP6OM4nCbsc

Then he goes... this is why lots of people run away from the church or don't stay... yes, they don't love the true and living God!  They don't like him because they love sin and hate God.  Including Rob Bell here.  Notice how the music changes when he offers and alternative possibility.  Rob Bell outright denies trusts the thoughts of man above those of God.  Yes, the christian faith is not about following the law and lists of rules.  But knowing and being husbanded to the most beautiful God of the universe.

What can be better than the good news that Jesus died for us, who were sinners, destined for doom?!!?!?!?

According to Rob Bell's gospel, the Biblical gospel isn't good enough.  So if you'd like to worship Rob Bell's gospel, the man made one, then you can accept the idea that "love wins" or in other words God eventually wins everyone over meaning no justice.
Dr. Ravi Zacharias describes the philosophical issues with his book:

Voddie Baucham--- Changes the questions he brings up to a better way of asking.

Paul Washer restating truth in a much harder manner, but true and uplifting after watching a billion of these other videos about rob bell.

Can you believe that he has even preyed on the younger? ..... he wrote a love wins book for the teenagers.
Using the idea of a party to draw them... seriously...  He claims that God is inviting everyone to a party, and its not about answers, but having questions.

No!!  Yes God creates mystery and awe, yes there is always more in him, yes he is going to bring eternal bliss and celebration... but because we get to be with the most beautiful and amazing God of the universe and we are saved from our selves.

Love does win Rob Bell... but that is why there is a hell.

This is Francis Chan talking about his book "Erasing Hell" he wrote in response to Rob Bell's book "Love Wins."

^^^
This Australian preacher explains the issue really well-- even before Rob Bell's book came out!  The video he shows at first is really obviously misleading!  Rob Bell again uses man centered thinking.  He focuses on Peter's ability to believe in himself... which was quite obviously NOT peter's problem.  Peter believed in himself too much, its about leaning on God for help.  Again sneaking in heresies with a sly tongue.

The Wretched Radio Show, Rob Bell uses Martin Luther for proof but does so again out of context and manipulatively:

David Platt another solid pastor denouncing Rob Bell and universalism.

Martin Bashir a News Journalist, also a Christian,  interviewing Rob Bell

Interviewer discusses with Rob Bell about Hell and tries to get a direct answer.  Rob Bell has compelling ideas. But in the video after this the theologian Doug Wilson explains the correct view to understand the word that Rob Bell spoke of about Jonah.  That word is not hell... it is to represent the grave for the old testament.  In other words, Jonah went to dead person place, and then came back, not hell.  This is before Jesus.  Doug Wilson publicly renounces Rob Bell as well.

OH MY GOODNESS-- WHAT A GURU AND GENIUS!!!  GIVE ME ALL OF THE ANSWERS TO THE UNIVERSE ... gag me

"people are like, but you get to meet God... yea but I never met my grandpa on my dad's side..." WHAT?!  A man of God eh?  God is definitely his one and only desire, right?  This is grossly sickening, all of it.  Infuriating... can we all just admit that he is an absolute wolf with really horrible sheep's clothing.  His canines are hanging quite low, even frothing over with spittle.  Where are your eyes if you cannot see his dripping speared mouth?

http://www.oprah.com/own-super-soul-sunday/Rob-Bell-Says-Faith-and-Doubt-Are-Perfect-Partners-Video

YAYYYY God is everything you've ever wanted with your carnal wicked heart.  Oh and doubt a whole lot, its really good for your faith!

Don't you like how he emphasizes "Christian" as though there were other legitimate stories.  Thanks Rob for making an outright mockery of the punishment Jesus took on the cross for us.  No, Jesus is the only way because he is the king of glory and he is the one who has loved us and died on the cross.  No other name can we come to the father through.  There is no confusion in scripture over this.

Mmmm anyone want a nice heaping pile of prosperity gospel worship?
"This is not an evacuation theology" --sounds like he's looking forward to country that is not of this earth like hebrews speaks of...
'Hey Esau, God is for you!' --said Rob Bell, the wolf with poorly sown lamb's clothing; nice shoes tho.
"like figure out your past and your addictions and all that stuff you're carrying around".... well... that's humbling.. yikes.  Man centered; everything good in here is twisted for man centeredness.

Great exegesis of your own wicked heart.  Yay the world wants "justice", oh no way! they must all want the judgment of God?

High five rob bell!!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gVSYvGwl3z0
Yay, for man worship!  yayy we do all the work, and God doesn't --- have you ever actually read the bible?  Seething with lies rob bell, you went to wheaton college, you've read enough to know that these are absolute lies

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-q0iDaW6BnE We need to move on to bigger and better things... I agree, no more focusing on sin, or repentance or conforming to the image of Jesus or people understanding the gospel..... is he out of his mind?!  Yes of course we need to love those who deal with homosexuality, love them deeply and make them feel welcome just like anyone else, but he is quite obviously sneaking false teachings in with his nice sounding rhetoric.  Bigger and better things?  THERE IS NO BIGGER OR BETTER THING THAN THE GOSPEL and the hope we have to come!  Joy in christ not the world.  Has he not read, a friend of the world is enmity with God?

FINAL CONCLUSION:
We need to love him, and pray for him, and pray for those who follow his teachings.  I have met people who are actual believers who have actually been helped by Bell's earlier teachings.  It goes to show that God can use anything to help us and be with us.  But we must admit face falsehood head on, and we cannot make excuses because God uses evil for good (we see this in stories like that of Joseph when he said you intended this for evil but God did for good).  We need to not continue reading a false teachers works, unless called to for the purpose of working against them.  We need to stand up for truth with tenderness, love and boldness.  He is still someone who can become saved and changed by the gospel but for now, he has the fruits of a wolf and people must be warned.
